Konrad Wenzel serves as the Director of the Esri R&D Center in Stuttgart, Germany. In this role, he is engaged in the 3D Platform at Esri and oversees research and development efforts focused on highly accurate Reality Capture and Photogrammetry software. It empowers users to create foundational 3D content for GIS and Digital Twins leveraging imagery from drones, aircrafts and satellites – scaling from small sites to entire cities and countries.
With a background in Geodesy and Geoinformatics, Konrad earned his PhD in Photogrammetry from the University of Stuttgart in 2016. In 2013, he co-founded nFrames, a company that was later acquired by Esri in 2020. Konrad is deeply passionate about harnessing the power of Reality Capture and GIS for Digital Twins to facilitate well-informed decision-making processes.
