Elevating Sustainability at Geo Week

Our Pledge

As a leader in the global expositions and conference industry, Diversified Communications, the organizer of Geo Week, recognizes its responsibility to understand and prioritize actions to reduce the carbon impact of the events it produces.

AT OUR EVENT

Our sustainability initiatives onsite
Some of the steps we are taking onsite: Removing aisle carpet, removing plastic badge holders from our registration process, limiting printed materials and encouraging use of our mobile app, selecting more sustainable menu items, reducing single use plastic & paper items, replacing branded gifts with donations toward environmental conservation groups, offsetting with carbon credits where possible, and more!

IN OUR COMPANY

Our global commitment
Diversified Communications has signed a pledge committing to support the goal of net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, in line with global efforts set out by the Paris Agreement to limit warming to 1.5°C and reduce total global GHG emissions by 50% by 2030, and to actively promote and advocate for industry efforts throughout the value chain.

Here's how you can help

Whether you are joining us at Geo Week as an attendee, an exhibitor or as a presenter, there are some simple steps you can take to help create a more sustainable event.

  • Plan your Travel & Commute Efficiently: Coordinate travel plans with colleagues and industry friends to allow for group transportation when possible. Book within our official hotel block, Hyatt Regency Denver, conveniently located just a short walk from the exhibit floor.
  • Come Prepared: To help us in our effort to reduce single use plastic and paper items onsite, we encourage all registrants to bring a reusable water bottle or travel mug to the event for water and/or coffee & tea service. Don’t have a reusable water bottle? Don’t worry. We will have a limited amount of reusable water bottles available onsite to help, see the registration desk onsite for more details.
  • Consider your Carbon Footprint: While there are many steps you can take to reduce your carbon footprint, traveling to an event means that carbon emissions will be produced through your means of travel. Purchasing carbon offsets can allow you to compensate for any unavoidable emissions generated by your trip.
