Ryan Alimo

Ryan Alimo is the CEO/Co-founder of OpalAI and a former NASA machine learning scientist for the Mars rover, specializing in human-centric AI systems. At OpalAI, he leads the development of Physical AI technologies that enhance decision-making in complex environments, including automatic floor planning, 3D scene reconstruction, world models, and digital twins of urban spaces. His expertise spans advanced machine learning, robotics, nonconvex optimization, and autonomous systems, bridging embedded devices and cloud-scale platforms. Ryan has led high-impact projects funded by NASA, the National Science Foundation, and the U.S. Department of Transportation, and today drives OpalAI’s vision to improve safety, efficiency, and operational intelligence across the built environment and transportation.
