Kelly Watt

Kelly Watt is the Program Manager for Digital Twins, AI/ML, and Smart City at DFW Airport. He has a deep background in reality capture and digital twins. He was the Global Director of FARO Technologies, worked for Trimble Navigation, and currently runs a successful consulting and reality capture company. Kelly is focused on providing efficient utilization of 3D visualization for critical infrastructure and campus-wide implementations of digital twin technology through lifecycle digital integration in oil and gas, power, utilities, transportation, and complex infrastructure including 2 multi-year international airport contracts (DFW Airport, San Felipe MX).

He has extensive experience in 3D documentation for risk assessment, security design, construction, project oversight, asset management, and reliability management programs working with large engineering firms such as AECOM and Burns & McDonnell. Kelly has also launched a unique Digital Twin Assessment Process (DTAP) for the effective and comprehensive deployment of digital twins. He works with knowledge graphs, semantic models, and data architecture as foundations for the digital twins.

Kelly’s geospatial experience includes 3D lidar, mobile lidar, SLAM, photogrammetry, video imaging, and analysis technologies. He is also a level 1 thermographer with experience in spectral imaging, condition-based asset monitoring, and reliability testing. He created a digital twin course which he teaches at Mohawk College in CAN.
