Karen Hart

Karen Hart has a comprehensive geospatial and hydrographic background and has been working in hydrography and geosciences for over 25 years.  In early 2022 she joined Woolpert and is the Marine Geospatial Discipline Leader, overseeing Woolpert’s topo-bathymetric lidar processing, sonar data processing, and maritime charting groups, and responsible for delivering large coastal mapping projects. Prior to starting at Woolpert, she was the Director of Business Development for both Teledyne CARIS and Teledyne Optech, applying Teledyne technology – including LiDAR, Sonar, and software solutions – to marine and terrestrial markets. Ms. Hart was also the Director of US Operations for CARIS during her 14-year tenure at Teledyne CARIS. Prior to working for CARIS, Ms. Hart was a hydrographic surveyor and marine scientist for 7 years focusing on coastal and offshore geophysical survey.  She has a Master of Science degree in Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the Ohio State University.
