Dr. Johnny Fortune is the President and Senior Consultant at AECO Digital Technologies and a strategic thought leader with over 25 years of extensive expertise in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Owner/Operator (AECO) industry. He specializes in advancing digital transformation, optimizing processes, and implementing innovative technology solutions to drive tangible results for clients, including major government agencies. He is a seasoned national leader recognized for his work in building the framework for digital processes. He served as the Executive Director for the National BIM Program, directing the creation and evolution of U.S. digital standards and coordinated federal-industry collaborations. He has helped advance the development of national digital standards, such as the National BIM Standard-United States V4 and the National CAD Standard V7. Dr. Fortune is also instrumental in supporting agency-specific BIM requirements, having made significant contributions to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) standards. Dr. Fortune holds an Ed.D. in Instructional and Performance Technology, ensuring that his consulting services for Digital Transformation Strategy, BIM/VDC, Performance Improvement, and Technology Change Management are grounded in proven, research-based techniques.
