Cloudalize Accelerates its International Expansion with the Opening of a Data Center in the United States

The move is a part of the company securing €5 million in a Series A round of funding led by the Hong Kong-based investor Horizons Ventures.

NEW YORK AREA – Cloudalize, a cloud platform for running GPU-accelerated applications on demand, has announced the opening of a new data center in the New York region (USA). This new data center accelerates Cloudalize’s global expansion and strengthens the company’s ability to support the increasing demand in the region.
Cloudalize in the Heart of America Region
With the addition of the United States data center in the New York area, Cloudalize can now better support its international customers with their local business needs within the Americas region.
Cloudalize’s customers are on the one hand architectural, engineering and construction companies who benefit from pay-per-use, flexible and managed IT infrastructure without compromising on security, mobility, collaboration and 3D design abilities. On the other hand, they are software vendors who leverage the platform to distribute their GPU-accelerated application on any device. A prime example of such an application distribution relates to real estate players who augment their sales experience by using 3D configurators. As such, they enable their buyers to make better informed decisions based on photorealistic and interactive visualisations of their future purchase.
“Cloudalize’s customers in the region greatly benefit from the opening of our new data center in the United States,” said Benny Willen, CEO of Cloudalize. “A local data center translates to low latency and low latency means customers can experience streaming at 60 frames per second, significantly increasing their end-user experience. Our customers will be better equipped to deliver best-in-class services to their internal stakeholders, local partners and customers.”
Spatial Affairs Bureau, an international architectural company and early Cloudalize customer with offices in the United Kingdom and the United States, is expanding their US footprint. “We tested Cloudalize in multiple locations, and the performance has far outstripped the more traditional remote desktops we were trying to use for 3D designs and general office synchronicity,” said Peter Culley, CEO of Spatial Affairs Bureau. With the new United States data center, customers like Spatial Affairs but also any player from the AEC industry located in the Unites States will have the opportunity to benefit from high performance cloud computing with the lowest latency.

Security and Availability: A State-of-the-Art Data Center
In the unlikely event of a failure, Cloudalize can now offer their customers, wherever they are located, to have their resources in an alternate location. The data center in the United States is deployed in a QTS facility, a leading provider of hybrid colocation and mega-scale data center solutions. The facility meets the high performance connectivity and energy efficiency standards. Moreover, the data center is certified to the highest market standards: SSAE 16, ISAE 3402 SOC Type 1, SOC Type 2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS and LEED (http://www.usgbc.org/leed). The QTS facility provides highly secure, local hosting for their clients in the United States. The infrastructure is built in accordance with the Uptime Institute’s Tier IV standards. “Cloudalize is an innovative company with a dynamic GPU-powered Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) solution that is poised to grow on global scale,” said Clint Heiden, Chief Revenue Officer, QTS. “GPU desktops are very cost-prohibitive to produce making GPU-powered DaaS highly compelling. We look forward to working as a strategic and trusted partner providing the technology and services as they build and expand their network.”
