James M. Shaw Jr., PLS, is a geospatial professional with over 37 years of experience in land surveying, including 18 years specializing in reality capture technologies such as mobile LiDAR, drone-based LiDAR and photogrammetry, and terrestrial laser scanning. He has managed complex survey and geospatial projects across the transportation, infrastructure, energy, and public sectors, with a focus on integrating high-accuracy control into cutting-edge capture workflows. James is an FAA-certified sUAS Remote Pilot and a National Geodetic Survey-certified OPUS Project Manager. He servers as a past President and active Board Member of the Maryland Society of Surveyors, and is also a frequent speaker, podcast guest, and published writer – often highlighting the future of geospatial innovation.
