Roundtable – Advancing Open Standards for Horizontal Infrastructure

This roundtable brings together representatives from across the horizontal infrastructure ecosystem to discuss the key challenges and opportunities in developing U.S. national standards using BuildingSMART USA open-source workflows. Participants from federal and state agencies, DOTs, contractors, and AEC design firms will explore technical, organizational, and policy-related obstacles that currently limit broader adoption. The session is designed as a collaborative discussion, encouraging open dialogue on alignment, interoperability, and next steps toward more consistent, scalable standards for horizontal infrastructure delivery.
