DS4000
What is it? DS4000 is the new underground utility detection system by Leica Geosystems, launched in June 2025. This next-generation GPR uses IDS GeoRadar’s Equalised Scrambling Technology (EsT) to detect buried infrastructure deeper and more clearly than ever, revealing the smallest items like fiber optic cables. Key features include deeper detection capabilities (up to 60% deeper), improved clarity and enhanced usability with a lightweight, modular design for easier transport.
Who is using it? Beneath the ground lies a tangled network of cables and pipes. As urban spaces – and the ground beneath them – grow more congested, advanced underground detection systems have become essential for reducing risk before breaking ground.
