Renee Walmsley is Vice President at Tetra Tech, where she leads the Geomatic Technologies Group, specializing in remote sensing, LiDAR, photogrammetry, and advanced geospatial data innovation. With more than 25 years of experience in environmental resource management and consulting, Renee is recognized as a leader in integrating cutting-edge mapping technologies to help clients visualize and achieve better outcomes.
Renee’s technical expertise spans large-scale infrastructure projects, natural resource monitoring, disaster response, and environmental planning. She holds several professional credentials, including GISP (Geographic Information Systems Professional), FAA UAS Remote Pilot certification, and PMP (Project Management Professional).
An active and respected voice in the geospatial community, Renee has served on the MAPPS Board of Directors since 2021 and was elected President in July 2025. In this leadership role, she advocates for innovation, collaboration, and the advancement of mapping and geospatial professions across the U.S.
Renee is passionate about mentorship, workforce development, and creating pathways for the next generation of geospatial professionals. She continues to champion the use of technology to drive informed decision-making and sustainable solutions.
