LT Matt Sharr is currently the Coastal Remote Sensing and Hydrographic Research Officer at NOAA’s Remote Sensing Division, focusing on bathymetric lidar total propagated uncertainty modeling and operational satellite derived bathymetry. Matt has been a NOAA Corps officer since 2015, with the majority of his time spent on hydrographic survey vessels in Alaska, in support of NOAA’s nautical charting mission. He has also worked in NOAA Coast Survey, providing hydrographic field support, hydrographic systems evaluation, and testing UAS for shoreline mapping. Matt recently completed his MS in Civil Engineering at Oregon State University with thesis work on satellite derived bathymetry validation.
