Jitendra (JB) Sharma is an Instructor at the Dutton e-Education Institute at Penn State University. He is also an Emeritus Professor at the University of North Georgia. He teaches a graduate course in in remote sensing and image processing in the online masters GIS program at Penn State. He held the Eminent Scholar Endowed Chair at the University of North Georgia and taught courses in remote sensing and Image analysis for about 20 years. He has expertise in high spatial resolution mapping, automated feature extraction and multi-sensor fusion applications. He also has a special interest in remote sensing education and literacy. He was awarded the ASPRS Estes Teaching excellence award in 2015. He was the Georgia Professor of the Year in 1999 and is a Fellow of the American Association of Physics Teachers.
