Dr. Salehi, an assistant professor of remote sensing engineering at SUNY ESF and director of Salehi-Geolab, is a renowned expert in remote sensing with a PhD from the University of New Brunswick, Canada. He was recognized among the top 3 scholars in remote sensing in the United States in the past five years leading to 2024 by ScholarGPS (a premier online resource for analyzing scholarly activities)
His research spans multi-sensor data fusion, employing machines and deep learning techniques for environmental applications such as forest biomass estimation, water quality monitoring, and UAV photogrammetry. With over 70 journal publications with a Google Scholar h-index of 34 as of February 2024 and numerous accolades, including the 2019 Early Career Achievement Medal, Dr. Salehi is recognized for his significant contributions.
