James Van Rens is the Senior Vice President of RIEGL USA, the North American distributor of RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems, an international leading provider of cutting-edge technology in LiDAR solutions. Mr. Van Rens has over 30 years of experience in and is a well-respected industry leader for LiDAR, geospatial 3D mapping techniques and their applications, lecturing extensively to professional and lay audiences alike.
Mr. Van Rens is constantly pushing the needle forward when it comes to being a voice in the industry. He is a Former MAPPS Board Member, a current Board Member of WGIC. He is a member of the WGIC Policy Committee. He has been appointed as a member of the National Geospatial Advisory Committee 3D Elevation Program subcommittee to represent the Private Geospatial Sector. His position enables a deeper understanding of geospatial technology and provides a voice for the geospatial community on current issues.
