Anil Mandal

Anil Kumar Mandal is the current President of the ASPRS Student Chapter at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). He is a Ph.D. student in Transportation and Environmental Engineering at FAU, where his research focuses on flood modeling, climate resilience, and geospatial analytics, with an emphasis on integrating data-driven methods into environmental and infrastructure planning.

He has led the deployment of the CWR3 Data Portal and designed PyWMP, an open-source ecosystem developed to support rainfall–runoff simulation and hydrological analysis. His work emphasizes reproducible modeling frameworks and the practical application of geospatial tools for water resources research.

Anil is a recipient of the 2024 USGIF Maxar Scholarship for Diversity and Innovation in GEOINT, recognizing his contributions and potential in geospatial intelligence and applied remote sensing. Prior to joining FAU, he served as GIS and Remote Sensing Technical Lead at NAXA (Nepal), where he led UAV-based surveys, land-cover modeling, disaster-resilient routing, and high-resolution mapping projects supporting environmental monitoring and disaster risk reduction.
