Kyle Barnes, Geospatial Analyst at Dewberry, specializes in advancing both AI- and data-driven geospatial solutions and scalable data workflows for environmental and infrastructure projects. In his current role, he co-leads the research and development of innovative AI use cases at Dewberry (with a current focus on sematic segmentation) as well as develops robust, scalable, and automated workflows. Kyle combines expertise in lidar, aerial imagery, and geospatial analysis with sophisticated Python, R, and other implementations to streamline workflows and derive actionable data for end-users and decision-makers.
His work includes designing various predictive spatial models, automating geospatial analysis across multi-million-dollar contracts, and more. Driven by his passion for the outdoors and environmental conservation, Kyle views his role to be a commitment to leveraging cutting-edge geospatial technology to deliver actionable insights for environmental, civil, and infrastructure planning projects of all scales.
Kyle obtained a MS in Sustainability with dual concentrations in Ecosystem Science & Management and Geospatial Data Science from the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability. He continues to use his broad experiences to create flexible solutions, helping to bridge the gap between science and management.
