Karen Hart has a broad geospatial and hydrographic background and has been working in hydrography for over 20 years. In early 2022 she started as a Geospatial Program Director for the Maritime Solutions group at Woolpert, overseeing large US government contracts requiring coastal mapping services. Prior to this she was the Director of Business Development for both Teledyne CARIS and Teledyne Optech, applying Teledyne technology – including lidar, Sonar, and software solutions – to marine and terrestrial markets. Ms. Hart worked at Teledyne CARIS for over 14 years, starting out in 2007 by supporting US customers as a Senior Hydrographic Consultant and technical account manager, providing consulting and training on CARIS marine GIS software, before becoming the Director of CARIS USA in 2016. As Director of US operations, she oversaw the sales and support of CARIS software for all US customers and worked on various business development initiatives within Teledyne. Prior to working for CARIS, Ms. Hart was a hydrographic surveyor and marine scientist for 7 years focusing on coastal and offshore geophysical survey. She has a Master of Science degree in Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island and a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the Ohio State University.
