Alexander Baikovitz

Alex Baikovitz is the CEO at Mach9 in San Francisco, CA. Alex founded Mach9 with leading AI researchers and engineers from the autonomous driving industry and Carnegie Mellon University to build the fastest tools for automated geospatial production–accelerating the transformation of reality capture data into CAD and GIS models.

Before founding Mach9, Alex was a NASA Space Technology Research Fellow at the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute (RI), where he built robotic systems for nuclear decontamination and decommissioning for the Department of Energy and supported Carnegie Mellon University’s team in the DARPA Subterranean Challenge. Previously, Alex worked on vehicle engineering on SpaceX’s Crew Dragon parachutes and pyrotechnics team and developed vision-based navigation software for a computational agriculture project at Alphabet’s X, the moonshot factory. Alex received his BS in Mechanical Engineering in 2019 and MS in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University in 2021.
