Alex Garcia is the National Manager of Mobile Solutions at GeoVerra, where he leads the company’s mobile mapping operations across Canada. He holds a BSc and an MSc in Geomatics Engineering and specializes in the evaluation, testing, and implementation of geospatial technologies, with a particular focus on GNSS/IMU and SLAM based mobile mapping systems. His work applies these technologies to large scale projects across transportation, construction, energy, mining, and telecommunications. Over his career he has managed major infrastructure and corridor mapping programs under tight deadlines and exacting accuracy requirements, including a single engagement that covered more than 18,000 miles and supported transportation corridor mapping, digital twins, and asset management deliverables. Alex also works across stationary terrestrial laser scanning, photogrammetry, UAV LiDAR and imagery, and high precision GNSS surveying, including GNSS network coordination and survey monument implementation. He has helped bring new technology into geospatial operations and builds processes that carry a project from data collection through to final delivery, so clients receive solutions that are practical and ready to use.
