Becci Anderson

Becci Anderson is the acting Director of the USGS National Geospatial Program, leading the agency’s topographic mapping mission through The National Map. She oversees the 3D Elevation and Hydrography Programs, OnDemand Topo maps available via topoBuilder, geospatial emergency response, and development of innovative products and applications that power decision-making nationwide. Under her leadership, the program is advancing the 3D National Topography Model including a nationwide 1-meter seamless digital elevation dataset, developing new capabilities and means to deliver on demand topographic maps, and strengthening partnerships through robust user engagement.

With national and international-level experience across public and private sectors, Becci combines deep expertise in geospatial science, technology development, and program leadership with a proven ability to align stakeholders, solve complex challenges, and turn science into actionable insight. She holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Oregon and an M.S. in Geography from Oregon State University, where she serves on the College of Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences Board of Advisors.
