Vice President – Special Projects, GeoCue Group, Inc.
Mr. Flood is currently the Vice President, Special Projects for GeoCue Group, Inc., a technology development and consulting services company dedicated to creating hardware and software tools for improving geospatial data production processes. Martin’s primary focus is on UAV payload development and the related data processing workflow optimization for organizations working with new UAV sensor technologies such as lidar. He also works with GeoCue Group’s enterprise consulting group to deploy cloud-hosted data management solutions built using GeoCue’s Earth Sensor Portal web publishing technology. He has over 25 years’ experience in the design and construction of advanced laser systems and optimizing data processing workflows for remote sensing applications.
Senior Vice President, Dewberry
Mr. Nayegandhi is Vice President and Director of Remote Sensing at Dewberry. He oversees the geospatial and technology services line for Dewberry’s contracts with federal, state, and commercial clients. With over 20 years of experience, he is a recognized expert in topographic and bathymetric LiDAR data acquisition and processing. Amar has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Mumbai and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from University of South Florida. He is the Director of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) Lidar Division and is an ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist and Certified Mapping Scientist – Remote Sensing.
Vice President & Chief Scientist, Woolpert
Dr. Qassim Abdullah is an accomplished scientist with more than 40 years of combined industrial, research and development, and academic experience in analytical photogrammetry, digital remote sensing, and civil and surveying engineering. Currently, Dr. Abdullah is the Chief Scientist for Woolpert responsible about designing and managing strategic programs to develop and implement new remote sensing technologies focused on meeting the evolving needs of geospatial users. In addition, Dr. Abdullah serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and at Penn State teaching graduate courses on UAS, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
Jim Van Rens
Senior Vice President & Strategic Advisor, RIEGL USA
James Van Rens is the Senior Vice President of RIEGL USA, the North American office for RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems, which is recognized as the performance leader in the mobile mapping, civil infrastructure, airborne scanning, unmanned, hydrographic, bathymetric, mining and terrestrial based industries. Mr. Van Rens holds a combination BA/BS degree from Marquette University and has over thirty years of experience in remote sensing, 3D mapping, and LiDAR technology.
Carla Lauter, Editorial Analyst
Carla Lauter is the editor of Geo Week News. Before joining Diversified Communications, Carla spent 10 years on NASA and National Science Foundation funded projects focusing on Earth science communication. She has worked on web-based outreach and online interactives for NASA Earth Science, including products for satellite missions measuring sea level, salinity and hyperspectral ocean color.
