Walter Kloth

Walter Kloth is the Commercial Partnerships Lead and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) for the Geospatial Products and Services Contract (GPSC) with the US Geological Survey, National Geospatial Technical Operations Center (NGTOC). He has worked for USGS in the Agreements and Commercial Partnerships Section for approximately 7 years developing partnership agreements, developing and planning new projects, and managing the GPSC3&4 contracts since 2021. He was previously employed by the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as a Geographer and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst supporting civil works, environmental restoration, flood risk mapping, military construction, and emergency management. During his time with USACE he accomplished the Chesapeake Bay Oyster Restoration Program’s first constructed reefs, modernizing FEMA RiskMap change comparison tools, deployment to Afghanistan supporting Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) cleanup and several emergency deployments for hurricane response, including Sandy and Irene. Walter has a Bachelor of Science in Geography, specializing in Coastal Zone Mapping and GIS and a certificate in GIS from Old Dominion University where he graduated in 2008.
