With over 23 years of experience in 3D software development, Tam is lead author for Indexed 3D Scene Layers (I3S) OGC standard.
Over his career Tam has worked in advancing 3D graphics in the geospatial industry and has contributed as a 3d developer and engineer in various ArcGIS family of 3D products at Esri.
Tam has authored and presented numerous articles and technical talks throughout the world including GTC, Siggraph, Siggraph Asia, Foss4G, 3DGeoInfo, ISPRS, Web3D, InterGeo, EGU, GeoWeek, ISPRS Geospatial Week and many other internationally recognized conferences.
In the last few years, Tam has been active in envisioning and defining various geospatial use cases for Digital Twins & Metaverse as well as focusing on advancing 3d object recognition and mesh segmentation using AI & ML within a geospatial context.
Tam is the co-Chair of OGCs’ Geo for Metaverse Domain Workgroup and works actively with Metaverse Standards Forum (MSF), Digital Twin Consortium (DTC) and World Geospatial Industry Council (WGIC) on regular basis.
