Currently based as a research fellow (post-doc) with 1 year and 3 months of experience in the University of Southampton’s School of Geography and Environmental Science, myself Dr. Subhajit Bandopadhyay, an ambitious early career researcher with deep interests in vegetation spectroscopy, airborne Sun-induced Fluorescence (SIF) and hyperspectral remote sensing.
I was awarded my PhD specialized in Environmental Engineering in March 2022 from Poznan University of Life Sciences (one of the premium universities in the field of agriculture and forestry in Poland). I did my Ph.D. in novel Sun-induced fluorescence (SIF) and vegetation spectroscopy over complex ecosystem structures for state-of-the-art mapping of the ecosystem’s structural and functional diversities. During my Ph.D., I spend one year and months at Remote Sensing Laboratories (RSL), University of Zurich, Switzerland, and German Aerospace Centre (DLR), Berlin my own fellowship.
My activities have led to high-quality research outputs (18 peer-reviewed journal articles, including recent first-author publications in Remote Sensing, Sensors, Journal of Applied Remote Sensing) as well as co-authors in the journals like Biodiversity and Conservation, Sustainability, Global Ecology and Conservation, Journal for Nature Conservation, Diversity, and many more. I had given seven invited talks to different international platforms to disseminate my research outputs and outreach programs.
Also, I hold experience as a PI.
