Rob started his surveying career 22 years ago in the woods of Pennsylvania and has spent the last decade at Diamondback Land Surveying in Las Vegas as the proverbial Swiss Army knife; from Managing crews, drafting, and traveling across the Western United States for hundreds of projects, to processing drone data, extracting points and linework from 3D scan point clouds, and everything in between, he’s had the opportunity to see surveying evolve in some truly incredible ways. While large, complex boundary jobs out in the mountains or in the desert will always be his favorite to work on, he also enjoys the 3D scanning evolution quite a bit, and has been instrumental in helping Diamondback integrate scanning and drone mapping into their daily survey workflow. When he’s not crunching away 3D point clouds, there’s a good chance you can find him at one of the many outreach events to help promote the Surveying profession through DBLS and the Get Kids into Surveying initiative.
