Dr. Rico Richter studied IT Systems Engineering at the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam and received his PhD at the Department of Computer Graphics Systems on the topic of “Analysis and Visualization of Large 3D Point Clouds”. His research focuses on artificial intelligence for 3D data, 3D rendering, geospatial digital twins, and the development of software systems for managing and utilizing 3D point clouds. He is author of more than 40 international journal articles and conference papers in the field of 3D point clouds. Currently he is the head of an AI research group at the Digital Engineering Faculty of the University of Potsdam.
