Mamdooh holds the position of Assistant Executive Director of Geospatial Products within the General Authority of Survey and Geospatial Information in Saudi Arabia. Mamdooh is a survey and geospatial professional with extensive experience in the field, spanning over 15 years. His expertise encompasses research, government work, and independent consulting organisations. Mamdooh successfully completed his diploma in Geospatial Intelligence at the University of Maryland, United States, and subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Geospatial Sciences from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom. Mamdooh has been responsible for overseeing numerous intricate national projects in the field of geo-spatial technology, encompassing positioning services, mapping production, and the establishment of geospatial standards and specifications. From 2014 to 2018, Mamdooh was tasked with the deployment and development of the Continuous Operating Reference Stations (CORS) in order to provide GNSS data for positioning services across Saudi Arabia. From 2018 to 2020, Mamdooh assumed leadership of the spatial programme responsible for the 25k scale National Mapping initiative in Saudi Arabia. In the year 2022, Mamdooh successfully led a nationwide initiative in Saudi Arabia focused on the collection and distribution of geospatial data. Mamdooh is an active participant in various boards and technical committees both within Saudi Arabia and internationally.
