Jacob David Lopez is a Geomatics Analyst at Towill, Inc. in the San Diego, CA office. He is a certified Land Surveyor In-Training (LSIT). He holds a Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Geomatics Engineering from California State University, Fresno. He has an extensive research background in precise mapping using UAS. He spent 4 years as a research assistant to Principal Investigator Dr. Riadh Munjy in the development of UAS best practices and guidelines for California Department of Transportation applications. He is the current Technical Division Director for the Uncrewed Autonomous Systems (UAS) Division of ASPRS and is leading the effort to publish a UAS addendum in lidar and photogrammetry applications publication for ASPRS. Overall, he considers himself a member of the ever-expansive geospatial sciences and land surveying community. He is dedicated to learning from, supporting, educating, and uplifting individuals in the field and related fields including our partners, clients, associates, as well as the general public. He is an enthusiastic life-long student of applications of remote sensing and land surveying. He is also passionate about communication in the geospatial sciences.
