Dr Raad Saleh is a Senior Engineer with the Office of System Architecture and Advanced Planning, National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service, NOAA. Prior to NOAA, Raad was the Innovation Lead with the USGS EROS Calibration and Validation Centre of Excellence. He also served USGS at the Astrogeology Science Centre in Flagstaff, AZ, working on planetary surface mapping in support of space exploration.

Raad was an Associate Professor of Geospatial Information Science and Engineering at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. As an Associate Scientist at the University of Wisconsin, Madison he managed a multi‐year research project funded by NASA and US‐Dept of Transportation. He has a Ph.D. in Geospatial Information Engineering (Civil and Environmental Engineering) from the University of Wisconsin, Madison; an M.Sc.E in Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering from the University of New Brunswick, Canada; and a B.Sc.E. in Surveying Engineering from the University of Baghdad, Iraq. Raad has authored several publications on advanced satellite sensing systems and automation of information extraction from satellite images.
