Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) may seem like science fiction, but they are already being put to work towards solving persistent problems in a variety of industries. With some training, software can be used to inspect infrastructure, interpret point clouds, identify road signs and more. Hear about some real world use cases – happening now, not in the future.

The next generation in design and construction is artificial intelligence, this short discussion will center on the importance of open source formats (like IFC) to this AI future in developing knowledge from design and construction data.
Andrew Sit, Teledyne
In the field of remote-sensing, the use of A.I. on images has opened the door for new ways to extract insights & value from the vast amounts of data that we have. Using A.I. techniques on lidar data is much less mature and has so-far not garnered the same level of attention or adoption. This discussion highlights some of the recent successes in this field, and provides suggestions for how we, as an industry, can overcome the challenges associated with using A.I. on Lidar data.
Session moderated by Thomas Haun, COO, Turner Mining Co.
Session format includes brief presentations followed by a moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A.
