ASPRS & ISPRS: What’s Now & What’s Next in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing

Feb 14 2023

1:00 PM - 1:30 PM MT

Exhibit Hall Theater

We know that the world today depends on geospatial information–remotely sensed imagery is quickly becoming the most important source of that information used in countless applications that underpin much of the world’s economic and environmental activity. The science and technology of image collection and analysis can be daunting to many looking for new career and business opportunities in this rapidly expanding geospatial sector. Two Geo Week Strategic Partners, ASPRS and ISPRS, represent the domestic and international brain trust of thousands of photogrammetry and remote sensing scientists, educators, innovators, and policy makers who are moving these capabilities forward, making them usable and accessible to geospatial professionals at home and around the world. In this special session, the leadership of ASPRS and ISPRS will appear together to showcase their organizations and explain how membership and participation can help Geo Week attendees become more informed users of imagery and remotely sensed data and information products. They will speak to the future directions of photogrammetry and remote sensing science and technology and their mutual plans to continue discussing these in the Geo Week program leading up to the next ISPRS Congress in Toronto, Canada in 2026.
